Moron of the Day: Harry Reid
Unbelievable. Harry Reid is a denier that government regulation kills jobs. Yes, he is. Read it here. Dingy Harry no doubt can't grasp that regulations also keep businesses from being able to start in the first place.
Maybe Dingy Harry believes that more regulations creates jobs, because it forces businesses to hire compliance officers.
Memo to Dingy Harry: Anything to increases the cost of doing business also limits the ability of smaller businesses to compete and limits job creation.
Too dumb for the Senate? Naaah. The Senate has lots of morons to keep Dingy Harry company. Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Warren. There are plenty.
Congratulations to Dingy Harry Reid, today's Moron of the Day.

Liberal Democrats: Disgusting Slugs
Why do liberal Democrats default to the behavior of disgusting slugs?

It is beyond me.

$1.86 Gas Means Economy Collapsing?
Last night in the second debate, President Obama said that the reason we had $186 gasoline in 2009 when he took office, and not now, is that the economy was collapsing then.
Yes, in the land of Obama's Bizarro School of Economics cheaper fuel does not mean lower costs for consumers, lower costs for travel and more tourism, lowers costs of consumer and commercial goods. No. It means the economy is collapsing.
Obama wants you to pay higher gasoline costs, because in his bizarro land, it means the economy is strong ... as it has been the last three-plus years when unemployment exceeded 8%.
Was he lying? Or just too economically ignorant to be or remain President or the United States?
You decide.

Delusional Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
According to pathological liar Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, "I have never been accused of being anything less than candid."
Unbelievable. She said it here (if you can stand someone who never answers a question, but only spurts talking points that may or may not be related to the questions asked):
Oh wait. At the end, she admits that conservative Republicans question her truthfulness. What happened to "I've never been accused...?" She also forgets liberal Anderson Cooper's statement about her living in an alternate universe.

God and the Democrats
After the Democrats removed from their platform all references to God and to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel and after the GOP started to make hay over the omissions, former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and the Democratic party leadership tried to correct the foolish error.... And embarrassed themselves.
Watch:
Almost as bad as the actual vote (in contrast to the ruling) in which the Democrats reject God in the party platform is the high-handed manner in which the chairman ruled. Two-thirds by voice? Hardly.
You see, that is the way Democrats govern. Fine if the will of the people goes their way. If not, they do whatever they want to do anyway, run roughshod over the truth and the people.

Slimeball of the Day: Debbie Wasserman Schulz
Never forget that this woman is the head of the Democratic National Committee. It is one thing to call someone a liar, and quite another to show it beyond all doubt.
In the following cli,p Debbie Wasserman Schulz denies ever saying that Israel’s ambassador to the US, Michael Oren said that "what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel.” He denies saying any such thing. The following clip is the FULL CONTEXT of Debbie Wasserman Schulz making that claim:
Next is the clip in which she lies about saying what she said in the clip above and accuses a conservative newspaper of deliberately misquoting her. Judge for yourself, but I heard the supposedly misquoted statement word-for-word in context.
With such a liar at the top, how can you believe anything that comes out of the these people.
Congratulations to today's Slimeball of the Day, the person who has been far and away our number one Moron of the Day winner: Debbie Wasserman Schulz.

You Didn't Get There On Your Own
The liars on the Democratic side are complaining that "You didn't build that" was taken out of context. What follows is the full context of "You didn't build that."
In context, the statement says everything the Republicans claim it said. Everything. Except the precise quote would be, "If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own."
You see, Barack Obama thinks that government is some sort pf partner in anyone's success.
I've got news for Barack: Government is an obstacle to business success. The government routinely encourages failure ... unless you have the connections to get a crony capitalism deal from the government.
The Republican focus on "You didn't build that" is entirely fair and fairly encapsulates the Obama message, even if the precise quote should be "If you've been a success, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own."
It means the same thing.

Obama Shows Lack of Class
In presidential campaigns, there is a longstanding courteous tradition of NOT campaigning during the other party's convention. Candidate Obama plans to break that tradition and campaign anyway.
It is sad we have a president with such little courtesy or class.
Obama. Must. Go. In January.

Note that Burton intends a large campaign to play this despicable ad in swing states.

Despicable Obama Ad
The first of many to come, a despicable ad from a despicable campaign suggesting that Mitt Romney is responsible for the death of a women after Bain Capital closed down an unprofitable plant, which actually happened two years after Mitt Romney left the day-to-day operation of Bain.
Even CNN agrees that it was outrageous. CNN looked into the facts demonstrating that the ad is completely dishonest:
Although the ad was put out be a so-called super-pac, the Obama campaign refuses to disclaim it. IF there is a better word than despicable to describe this ad and the Obama campaign, I'd like to know what it is.

"You Didn't Build That" Instant Replay
While it is not abundantly clear, I think the "You didn't build that," was awkwardly referring to a different antecedent: road and bridges. When a good speaker uses a pronoun such as "that,"the antecedent is the closest preceding noun. Barack Obama is not a good extemporaneous speaker.
Even if the intended antecedent was roads and bridges, the full context is really worse. President Obama touts the role of government for successful businesses. He says to business owners, you did not do it on your own. Obama touts the role of local government infrastructure or local teachers taught the businessman (forgetting the private schools exist, too). Even Obama can't tout the role of the Federal government as business helper.
Obama cannot conceive the reality that businesses succeed by, among other things, overcoming government hurdles. Government drags down fledgling businesses. Heavy regulation favors bigger, more established businesses who can afford the regulatory burden. The government is no friend to small business.
Government, especially the Federal government, tries, it seems, to block the success of small business. Barry-the-socialist-at-heart lacks any understanding of that reality.
Don't just penalize Obama. Make him forfeit the game.
Moron of the Day: Boston Mayor Thomas Menino
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino announced plans for the City of Boston to engage in blatant viewpoint and religious discrimination against Chick-fil-A, saying, "If they need licenses in [Boston], it will be very difficult -- unless they open up their policies."
He is not referring to any actual policies, but to the owners' Christian beliefs. The owners believe in traditional marriage. They believe in observing the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship. There is no evidence that Chick-fil-A has unlawful discrimination policies of any kind.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino's bigoted threats invite a serious lawsuit under Federal civil rights laws, including 42 USC 1983. One hopes that Boston has enough money to pay the judgments sure to result. The viewpoint and religious discrimination is clear and has been publicly announced. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino will cost his city big time in judgments.
Congratulations to today's Moron of the Day for one of the dumbest ever public announcements threatening government violations of the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution. It is like giving money away, without the need for a welfare administration establishment.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino truly deserves today's award.

Obama's Incredibly Deceitful Campaign
The Obama campaign is accusing Mitt Romney of lying about what President Obama said about small business. How dare Mitt Romney quote President Obama's actual words! How dare Mitt Romney not use what the President now says he really meant to say and did say later (which, fully in context, means the same thing he said earlier). See story here. The president's further explanation means exactly the same thing he originally said in the speech.
We are talking about the Elizabeth Warren theory that the government is behind all business success. The theory is that the government spends moneyplundered taxed from its citizens to build infrastructure. the problem with the theory is that ANYONE could use the infrastructure to build a business, but only a few do. As to those who do build a business, Obama demeans them with the false notion that the government was somehow a partner. In most cases today, a business must overcome many government roadblocks to succeed. The government is an obstacle, not a partner.
Government is the reason more entrepreneurs don't succeed. Ask any entrepreneur of a past failed business trying to get back on his or her feet, but are shackled by the obligation to pay payroll taxes, liability for which never go away and is not dischargeable in bankruptcy. It is forever a bondage to the tax man.

Moron of the Day: Eric Holder
Today's Moron of the Day is United States Attorney General Eric Holder. Not for his behavior in Congress over Fast and Furious, bad as that was. Not for withholding hundreds of thousand of page of documents while claiming that he was cooperating with the subpoena requiring them. Not for asking the President Obama to claim executive privilege on documents that do not actually involve the White House (we think).
No. Eric Holder wins the coveted Moron of the Day award for not being able to tell the difference between poll taxes and laws requiring voters to have proof of identification. Yes, he actually said that requiring voter identification is like a poll tax. He did. See here. The nations chief law enforcement officer wants more lawlessness at the voting booth, by making it easier for non-citizens to vote.
The truth is that Democrats want non-citizens to be able to vote, because they think non-citizens would vote for ... here it is ... Democrats.
Congratulations to Eric Holder to winning our Moron of the Day award.
Erik Scott Family Files Civil Suit and Other Updates
The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that the Erik Scott Family has filed a state court lawsuit against Cosco as a result of the shooting of Erik Scott July 10, 2010. It is case no. Case No. A-12-663162-C.
They had filed and dropped a federal court suit against the Las Vegas police in March 2012. Here is a Las Vegas Review-Journal article about why the suit against the police was dropped.
In January, 2011, one of the officers involved in the shooting was charged with indicted for giving a weapon to the person under a disability, i.e., a convicted felon. According to a news report, he had accepted a pea to a misdemeanor and had been fined $2000 in District Court. In May 2011, he was indicted on another charge of giving a weapon to a person under a weapons disability. Las Vegas Sun article here. A later news article in December 2011 from the Las Vegas Sun says the trial was set then delayed.
Two of the other officers in the Erik Scott shooting have recieved national honors as police officers, according to CBS News Las Vegas.

Progressives: If You Think Conservatives are Evil, You Aren't Thinking
This is a message to the progressive left. I understand you. I understand that you think that America is a rich country (although no longer the richest in the world) and therefore, the rich in the country should share with the poor. I get that concept. How very noble. (Well, actually, it is not so noble, unless you are one of the rich.) Maybe it is well-intended..
News flash, conservatives and libertarians want the poor to get more money and have a path to wealth.
The problem is that while giveaway entitlement programs help with a small handout today, they inhibit the long term prospects for the poor. Why? It teaches the poor the wrong skills. It teaches them how to demand more public freebies, but dies not teach them to become more productive. Workfare was a step in the right direction, but even that has serious problems. Workfare taught the poor how to get around workfare requirements.
No government handout program creates a path to self generated wealth. And wealth can only be self generated. There is not enough government money even conceivable that can make the poor wealthy through unearned gifts.
Conservatives and libertarians want the poor to have a real, achievable path to earned prosperity.
Do you really think that evil? Do you really think that conservatives and libertarians want children to starve? If you think that, you need to seek help. Really.
The only path to legitimate prosperity is a mixture of hard work, ingenuity, focus, self discipline and some risk taking. There is no legitimate path to prosperity by learning how to get more welfare benefits from government agencies.
If it is evil to want everyone to have an incentive to work hard and to gain a path to prosperity, and a disincentive to be on the public dole, then I plead guilty.

Moron of the Day: Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has vetoed legislation to prevent food stamp recipients (now, EBT Cards) from being able to use their welfare benefit to buy porn, tattoos, jewelry, and manicures. Governor Patrick's reasoning? “I’m not going to do anything that makes vulnerable people beg for their benefits. This notion of humiliating poor people has got to be separated from how we make a program, and frankly separated and disposed of, from how we make a program work and work well”
"Their benefits?"
It is exactly Mr. Patrick's encouragement of the entitlement mentatlity that is destroying America from within. Here is a news flash for Governor Patrick: Americans should feel humiliated if they must accept public benefits to survive. I want them to accept them if they need them temporarily, but I also want them to have a strong incentive (like humiliation) to reject those benefits and become productive on their own.
Gov. Patrick's mindset has a 55 year history of creating a culture of dependency.
Governor Patrick's Moron of the Day award is truly well deserved.

Bipartisanship Democrat Style
The Democrats idea of bipartisanship consists of sitting on 290 bills passed by the Republican controlled House, The Hill reports.
In the abstract, failing to pass more laws seems like a good thing. You never know. A couple them might even do something good, like repeal stuff. Obamacare would be a good start.
Just remember this when the Democrats inevitably accuse the Republicans of causing gridlock.

Federal Paycheck Fairness? How Dumb Can You Get?
President Obama's Paycheck Fairness bill?
If you hate women in the workplace, you've got to love the Paycheck Fairness Act.
Exactly how stupid do you have to be to think that sort of federal law is a good idea? Such a federal law would be extraordinarily stupid. How dumb is the bill? It would have many ill effects:
1. It would create incentives for businesses to avoid hiring women.
3. It would create another massive federal bureaucracy to micro-manage business employment practices.
4. It is not a proper Federal matter under constitutional federalism principles. If it were really a good idea for government, let the states try it.
I think women should have an equal right to seek employment opportunities without government punishing employers for hiring them. That is exactly when this bill would do.
Are YOU dumb enough to be a supporter, as President Obama is?

Reason #6 Obama is a Bad President
Eric Holder. Why? How about: Fast and Furious? How about refusing to take default judgment against polling place intimidation thugs who were Black panthers? How about stonewalling Congress when they ask about Fast and Furious?
Obama's War on Truth Continues
The Obama's campaign's latest ad, a follow up from the Julia fiasco, has Brian Slagle claiming to be a laid off autoworker who got his job back thanks to Obama and the stimulus. The trouble is, it is a lie. Brian Slagle has been an employee of Johnson Controls since 2006, according to Slagle's own facebook page (information since removed). Source: Weekly Standard.

Reason #4 Obama is a Bad President
The President's campaign has published an enemies list on its web site, specifically a list of campaign donors to Mitt Romney. This is a blatant attempt to intimidate potential donors against donating to Romney. Read the commentary on it at the link above.

Moron of the Day: Ray LaHood
Calling for more Federal government oppression, Obama's Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood wants a Federal ban on the use of mobile telephones while driving. Government Overlord LaHood would ban not just texting, but also hands-free talking. Today's Moron of the Day does not care whether Congress has that enumerated power under the Constitution. He does not care whether the states could exercise that power if they desired. In fact he admits,
Congratulations to our latest Moron of the Day, Ray "the Hood" LaHood.
"Thirty-eight states have laws restricting or outlawing the use of electronic devices while driving, LaHood said.Clueless Ray doesn't articulate why talking on the cell phone should be a Federal matter rather than a state issue. Almost as bad, Mr. LaHood lives up to his name by trying to bully automobile manufacturing executives out of including more such conveniences in new automobiles. NBC reports:
He said he has called the CEOs of major car companies and encouraged them to "think twice" before placing too many Internet-based systems into new cars.Ray "The Hood" LaHood thus promotes government oppression.
Congratulations to our latest Moron of the Day, Ray "the Hood" LaHood.
Reason #3 Obama is a Bad President
It has taken us three years for the United States to begin an economic recovery from his stimulus package. I can only hope that the nation can recover from his deficits by the time our grandchildren come of age.

Reason #2 Obama is a Bad President
The Federal government under President Obama is at war against the citizens of this country.
For example USEPA is prepared to "crucify" violators of arcane, overly complex and virtually incomprehensible environmental laws and regulations. So admits the EPA Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz:
Fire. Them. All.

Canadian Gestapo Arrest Man After Daughter Draws Picture Showing Dad with a Gun
In America it would be an unbelievable story. A little girl draws a picture of her dad with the gun showing him killing bad guys and monsters. The teacher takes it to the principal and Dad gets arrested for possession of a firearm. The police search his house, a warrantless search, and turn up nothing but a toy airgun. In the meantime, the data strip-searched and the children interrogated by goons from Family and Children's Services, who report the children were scared. Scared? No wonder given the actions of government officials.
There was no gun found, as if that would be a big deal (apparently it is in Canada).
Read it in the Toronto Sun.
Terrorism by jack-booted government thugs. The parents are looking for a new school Hint: Avoid government schools.
Could it happen here? Elect too many Democrats and we may just find out.

Zombie Mohammed Case
There has been quite a kerfuffle over the Internet concerning the "Mohammed Zombie" judge. Some claim that this judge was enforcing Sharia law. Some have claimed that the judge admitted to being Muslim. some have claimed that this judge harangued the victim. None of these is true based upon a recording of the trial made by the victim.
The basic facts are these. On Halloween night, the victim was in a parade dressed as a zombie mom and on the theory that in the Koran it says that Mohammed was raised from the dead and walked among the living, and therefore he must've been a zombie. [I don't think the Koran says that, but no matter.] The defendant Taraaq confronted the victim at the parade. According to the victim, Taraaq grabbed him and turned him around and tried to choke him. Both parties called the police. The responding officer says that Taraaq did not recall precisely what happened, but admitted touching the victim. Taraaq was charged with harassment, the operative terms of which statute are as follows:
To those who suggest that the judge admitted to being a Muslim, I say that the judge's comment has been misconstrued and should appropriately be understood to be a colloquialism in form. It should be understood to mean, "[If] I am a Muslim, I find it offensive."
This Internet controversy and the many threats to the judge's security (he has been moved to another County for security purposes) would never have happened if the judge, after lecturing the victim, had turned to the defendant and said something like,
The judge gave the appearance, however, of partiality when he lectured only the victim. I hope the judge has learned a lesson and takes this to heart.

(a) Offense defined.--A person commits the crime of harassment when, with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another, the person: (1) strikes, shoves, kicks or otherwise subjects the other person to physical contact, or attempts or threatens to do the same; ....The trial was apparently held in a court not of record where the police officer acted as the prosecutor. Taraaq was defended by a lawyer. The judge found Taraaq not guilty for failure of the state to meet its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt due to conflicting testimonies. The judge calmly lectured the victim about sensitivity to persons of Islamic cultures, but never similarly lectured the defendant Taraaq about the rights under the First Amendment to insult religion. Here is an audio of the entire trial:
To those who suggest that the judge admitted to being a Muslim, I say that the judge's comment has been misconstrued and should appropriately be understood to be a colloquialism in form. It should be understood to mean, "[If] I am a Muslim, I find it offensive."
This Internet controversy and the many threats to the judge's security (he has been moved to another County for security purposes) would never have happened if the judge, after lecturing the victim, had turned to the defendant and said something like,
"While I find that the government did not meet its burden of proof to convict you of this crime, I must warn you that here in America the First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects every person's right to speech, including speech that insults another's religion. While I do not approve of speech that offends other people, in the religions are allowed otherwise, you Mr. truck must realize that if you are going to be in the United States, you must be prepared to tolerate speech that insults Islam, just as you must expect others to tolerate speech that insults Christianity or Judaism. It is never appropriate in the United States to touch another in response to an insult to your religion. That is just not the way things are done here."I think the judge made an error in judicial judgment by not lecturing the defendant after choosing to lecture the victim in this case. I do not think that means that the judge is applying Sharia law or giving some advantage to Muslims merely for being Muslims. The case has been seriously exaggerated in the conservative blogosphere.
The judge gave the appearance, however, of partiality when he lectured only the victim. I hope the judge has learned a lesson and takes this to heart.
