Supposed Believers in First Amendment Petition to Limit Speech of Conservative Talkers

If I had the petition signers' names, there would be multiple morons of the day today.  Watch and groan.

California Bullies Public Preachers

This is unbelievable. If you think America is the "land of the free," think again. This video shows what a police state we really live in.

What freedom loving person who believes in the First Amendment would ever have believed that the police would arrest a man for preaching in public.

Eternal Vigilance Needed

One of the greatest things about America is our right to free speech under the First amendment.  No other country in the world has those rights so legally embedded in the founding document and has a culture that actually believes in that right.  Nevertheless, we have purported leaders (I mean, actually, boneheads) who constantly attack that right to undermine it.

Other countries claim to have free speech, but really do not.  Speech is not free, if there is no right to insult without government punishment.  "Hate speech" bans are antithetical to free speech.  There is no right not toe be offended.

Here is the latest batch of free speech attacks:

1.  Al Sharpton, the never punished, never apologetic, fraudmeister of the Tawana Bradley scandal is pushing for the FCC to take the likes of Rush Limbaugh off the air.  Video below.

2.  Commissioner Copps of the FCC, following Evil Al's lead is seeking to expand regulation of the public radio bands to, among other things, assure that this theoretical public resource, radio bandwidth, is being used "in the public interest" to promote adequate diversity.

The Tea Party wave of 2010 has made them nervous.  It is not enough that "progressive" thought already dominates the broadcast news media.  They want to use the power of force to stop contrary ideas from being expressed on talk radio ... or anywhere else.  Rest assured, that if they can push acceptance of their quashing of free speech on the airwaves, cable and satellite media will soon follow.

Make no mistake.  These people are not merely misguided.  They are truly evil and un-American.  They should be driven form public office and public view, as the case may be.

GE Chairman Blows it at Shareholders' Meeting

Janeane Garofalo exemplifies the non-think reaction of the left to anything they don't like.  Criticize President Obama's policies and it is automatically racism.  Rational discourse becomes impossible.

Yes, her opinion is dumb, although fully in line with MSNBC's politics.  G.E. owns MSNBC.  MSNBC's political leaning leave it eating the dust of other cable news outlets, so the political cant is bad business.  

Even dumber was the response of GE's chairman to a pointed question about MSNBC airing Ms. Garofalo's outrageous looney opinion.  (First Amendment Alert:  The First Amendment does not require news outlets to air goofy opinions, it merely permits the airing without prior restraint.)

Debate: Should Islam be Banned in the US?

It is time for a debate in this country. Should be constitution be amended either to:

1) Ban Islam in the United States altogether:

or if not,

2) Treat Muslims as Christians are treated in Arab countries with (a) a special tax on all Muslims (earmarked for Homeland Security); (b) banning all new mosques; (c) forbidding the repair of mosques; and (d) outlawing proselytizing for Islamic conversion.

Of course either of these would currently be unconstitutional, so the debate must center around whether there should be a constitutional amendment. Of course any Muslim in the US could avoid any problems by converting to any other religion, so there need be no hardship. Just as there is no hardship on Christians in the Arab world, right?

I am open to hearing both sides.
