Peolsi: Republicans Insult Obama By Refusing to Go Public With Jobs Speech Disagreementsementw with HIm public

Fox News is reporting that the Republicans will not give a public rebuttal to the president's jobs speech. Nancty Pelosi says that is disrepectful. Do we need any more proof the Nancy Pelosi is nuts?
Republicans have decided they're not going to give a rebuttal to President Obama's jobs speech later this week, a decision House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi took as a high affront to the White House.

...

Pelosi said the party's "silence" would "speak volumes about their lack of commitment to creating jobs."

"The Republicans' refusal to respond to the president's proposal on jobs is not only disrespectful to him, but to the American people," Pelosi said.

But Boehner spokesman Mike Steel said Obama's proposals on Thursday "will rise or fall on their own merits," suggesting a GOP response was not needed.
I'm sorry, but that is just weird. Nancy Pelosi wants someone to rebut the President? Out of respect? Public disagreement implies respect? Wouldn't respect be to agree with him? Doesn't respect include listening, digesting any proposals and thoughtfully responding after careful consideration? does respect require an immediate response before Republicans have had the opportunity to discuss matters among themselves? Doesn't the immediate rebuttal imply mostly partisanship?

I can see only one argument that the refusal to rebut is disrespectful, but Nancy Pelosi did not make that argument. She could have argued that the failure to make a formal rebuttal trivializes the President's speech, implying that his ideas are not worth public dialogue. But she did not make that argument.

Whether the President's proposal are trivial remains to be seen. We certainly expect nothing less from the President than big government solutions that will make the problem worse. Whatever the President has to say, discussion by Congress happens in a different forum, not necessarily on the public airwaves.

Moron of the Day: Nancy Pelosi

Did you know the National Institute of Health has the "Biblical power to cure?" Nancy Pelosi said so.

Really. She said that. Don't believe me? Listen for yourself.

Memo to Nancy: the Biblical power to cure is God healing through faith. I never read anywhere that God required the National Institute of Health to effect any cure.

When it comes to progressive, government is God. That is just the way they see the world.

Congratulations to Nancy Pelosi for earning our coveted Moron of the Day award.

Campaign Ad Attacking Nancy Pelosi

Here is a campaign ad by Nancy Pelosi's opponent, What's-his-name, the sacrificial lamb. Oh yes, John Dennis. I hope his name recognition is betting in San Francisco.

Quixotic quest in the wonderland of San Francisco, but amusing nevertheless.

The Ethically Challenged Nancy Pelosi

Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act request has obtained documents that reveal among other things, that Nancy Pelosi commandeered military aircraft for the personal use of her relatives. Details are at the Doug Ross Journal.

Forget illegal immigrants. I think we need a fence around San Francisco to keep Nancy Pelosi out.

Is it any wonder that Jack Cafferty called her a "horrible woman?"

Needed: Botox for House Cleaner

John Lott suggests that this shows a need for some sort of intelligence test before voting. But in some respects, these women certainly get it right.

Who am I to question the wisdom of their bottom line assessment?

Crackheads for Jones?

No, it is Nancy Pelosi. And the Mayor of San Francisco.

I think members of Congress should be subject to mandatory random drug testing.

Pelosi's Arrogance Exceeded Only by Her Ignorance

The conservative commentators are all over Nancy Pelosi's USA Today editorial in whic she calls the health care protesters unAmerican for supposedly disrupting town hall meetings about the awful health care proposals. Wow. Where was she when the leftists were out disrupting everyone they disagreed with on, well, just about everything?

In fact, the town hall meetings were not disrupted so much as tough questions were being asked and Congressfolk were being booed for supporting bad policies. Watcdh the videos posted previously on this blog and elsewhere.
However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted "Just say no!" drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion.
Sounds to me like Americans engaging in peaceful and civil protest. Unlike Liberal protests, the Congresspersons did get their words in. It is just that what they had to say was so bad they were booed or they inspired chanting. Sounds very American to me. No violence (except by union thugs supporting Obamacare).

Later in the article, Pelosi gets really arrogant:
This month, despite the disruptions, members of Congress will listen to their constituents back home and explain reform legislation
. How does explaining their terrible bills equate to any actual "listening?" If they were listening to their constituents, they would have nothing to do with Obamacare, would they?

The Collective Delusion of the Democratic Party

Nancy Peolosi. We already know from the waterboarding debacle that she is a liar. Is she also delusional? You decide.

It is truly amazing how out of touch with reality the Congressional Democrats are.

Swatikas. Really? Look for them yourself here.

Nancy Pelosi Blunders Continue

Nancy Pelosi vowed to preside over then most ethical Congress ever and to clean up the culture of corruption.
USA Today reports that Pelosi, fourth-ranking House Democrat Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, and Indiana Senator Evan Bayh all failed to disclose they are officers of their family charities. Members of Congress are required by law to file yearly reports on their personal finances, including any positions they hold with businesses or non-profits.
Shades of Bill Clinton.

Nancy Pelosi's Great Start

Nancy Pelosi's Top Blunders as Speaker of the House (to be):
  • Nomination of ethics-challenged John Murtha as House Majority leader.
  • Nomination of ethics-challenged Alcee Hastings (a man ineleigible for a security clearance) for chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
  • After running on a campaign to implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations, immediately rejecting those recommendations with respect to the organization of the House.
  • Nomination of the intelligence-challenged Sylvestre Reyes as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee (after six years on the committee, including 9/11, he does not know whether al Qaeda or Hezbollah are Sunni or Shiite).
No doubt there are more to come from the champion of San Francisco values.
