On Monday April 10, 2006, Hamas promised no more suicide bombings of Israelas a matter of policy. (There was actually a formal cease fire on February 8, 2006.)
So what came of that promise last Monday? More suicide bombings of course. And Hamas defends the suicide blast.
The promise of dropping suicide bombings as a matter of policy came on the heels of the European Union's announcement that it was suspending financial aid to the Palestinian Authority. So the Palestinian authority went shopping. It recieved promises of aid from Qatar, Russia, Saudi, Kuwait, UAE, and Iran.
A history of suicide bombing since the original Feb 8, 2006, cease fire: here.
