Ohio's Ken Blackwell is a candidate for the GOP gubernatorial nomination. He is also the state's most visible proponent of a constitutional amendment design to limit government spending at all levels of Ohio's government.
And who is complaining? Of course. It is the Ohio cadre of feeders at the public trough, speculating in the press about the goodies they won't be able to spend money on.
The amendment will force all levels of government to prioritize their spending. Maybe it will halt, or at least limit the seemingly endless growth in government employment.
It is unfortunate that legislators in Ohio and elsewhere seem to be unable to rein in their spending without a constitutional amendment.
